what is an acid food for plants?
Is there a "home acid plant food", I can use on my gardenia?

Fertilizers formulated for use on azaleas, rhododendrons, or citrus are usually acidic and could be used for your gardenia. Look for an ammonium form of nitrogen rather than nitrate nitrogen if you can't find a specific fertilizer listed as acidic. The ammonium form of nitrogen tends to be acidic.
