Herb Growing in Containers
I am in zone 5. What herbs could i grow in pots and are there some which I could grow from seed? Which would require full sun? Thankyou, Amanda"

Hi Amanda,

You can grow pretty much any variety of herb in a pot -- in fact, they may grow better in containers than they do in the ground for you.

Most herbs do best in full sun or part shade, and you can easily grow most annual herbs from seed. (Sage, rosemary, lavender, lemon balm, lemon verbena, lemongrass, and mint are usually sold as plants instead of seeds.)

For more information about growing and choosing herbs, I invite you to check out the herb section of our plant Encyclopedia:

Thanks!
