No-bees garden
My boyfriend does not like bees and does not want a garden with flowers if they will attract bees by our porch between the pool and the deck. It's an area about 11'x8' or maybe a little bigger. I want flowers galore, he wants rocks. How can I plant this garden with something that will not attract bees but be beautiful with rocks, too?

Does he mind hummingbirds? Plant Agastache cana (Wild hyssop, Hummingbird mint). They don't attract bees but get long spikes of pink or pinky-purple flowers from late summer through fall. Other agastaches don't grow as perennials in your region.
