Landscaping around a sign
I'm looking for some landscape ideas around a 4-ft commercial sign. There's approx 4 ft of planting area in front and behind the sign. I'm looking for something colorful or eye-catching to make the sign stand out. Soil is about average, full sun, zone 6. I'd also like something that has blooms from spring to fall. Appreciate any help you can provide.

Your best bet for color from spring to fall comes from annual flowers. However, they need to be replanted every year. If you want to use perennial flowers, plant a mix of long-blooming types with slightly different seasons of bloom. . Some good choices include catmint, reblooming landscape roses, perennial salvia, reblooming daylilies, and ornamental grasses.
