Sunflower Seeds
How do I harvest the seeds of the sunflower ?

After the flowers fade, allow the flower head to dry as much as possible on the plant (the stem attached to the flower will turn yellow). You may also want to cover the flower head with some old panty hose or something to keep birds from stealing your harvest because as the seeds dry, birds will begin flocking to the seed head for a snack. Then, cut the flower head down and it's quite easy to begin breaking it up by hand, pulling the seeds apart and storing them in a jar or other airtight container. "
