Bermuda grass in flower garden
How do I remove and continue to keep Bermuda grass from my flower gardens?

Since Bermuda grass spreads by above and below ground rooting stems, it can quickly find its way into flower beds and stands of perennials. It is also back-breaking to try to pull it all up and the stems snap leaving lots more to grow. A product called Ornamec is being recommended as an herbicide especially for Bermuda grass. However it kills other grasses as well but leaves most perennials alone. At this time it is not being used widely. You should check with your local Cooperative Extension Office (blue or yellow pages) for their recommendation.
