how to prune a Duranta
I have two Durantas , each are very healthy . My problem is they are so overgrown for the place that I have. I need to prune them, but a friend said when she pruned hers they never bloom again So I do not know how to prune them, they are in full boom. I live in louisiana and the temperature right now is 95 degrees. Please Help!

Durantas grow best with minimal pruning. But they bloom on both current season's wood and older wood, so minimal pruning should not completely prevent them from blooming. The best time to prune is in late winter or early  spring. I'd avoid pruning in extreme heat. And prune as little as possible, just to maintain the shape of the shrub.
