Fertilizer for herbs in containers
Hello - with the addition of a new deck, I have decided to start a herb garden in containers. I'd like to plant cilantro, bay leaves, and some varieties of green chillies. I am wary of using fertilizers because obviously, these will be consumed. Can you suggest what type of fertilizer to use? Is there a harmless organic one? Thank you.

Herbs will be more aromatic and more flavorful if they are "grown poor"--that is, with very little fertilizer. You probably won't need to supply any fertilizer at all. If you must, you can mix dried cow manure into the soil or use a fish emulsion type of fertilizer according to directions.
