Wasps, hornets, yellow jackets and bees
Is there any kind of plant or bush that these insects don't like and will steer clear from. I have young children that are afraid of these and honestly so am I. I have heard of something called lemon grass - I think, that mosquitoes don't like, so I wondered if there was anything like that for these little pests.
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I contacted an entomologist and we came up with nothing. And while Lemon Grass repels mosquitoes, it can actually attract bees. Think of it this way; bees are pollinators and every plant has some kind of bloom that needs to be pollinated. The relationship is symbiotic, while there is no such relationship between mosquitoes and plants.
