Hibiscus pests problem
For the 1st time I seem to have a different looking insect on 1 of my Hibiscus pants. It has a white cotton candy looking webs, with white eggs ""floating"" in them. What are they and how do I get rid of them? I've never seen anything like this before and, so far, these are only on 1 of the 3 Hibiscus'. I tried water spraying them off, but they're back the next day or 2. HELP!

Thanks for writing. It sounds as though you might have mealybugs or snow scale. There are a couple of ways to treat them --- you can try a systemic insecticide, which is absorbed by the plant and makes it poisonous. Or you can use an insecticidal soap or neem-oil-based spray and spray your plant once a week or so for four consecutive weeks to kill all generations of this pest.

Good luck!
