black bottom on my tomateos
i live less than 2 miles from the ocean in south california. my tomateos look perfectly riped except that most have black hard bottom that i have to thraw away almost half of the fruit.what is it? and how to aviod tomatoe plants look healthy ,plenty of tomatoes.i water them about 3-4 times a week,use tomatoe plant food. they get sun most of the day. they don't touch the soil which is mostly clay mixed with purchased soil mix.

This is a condition called Blossom End Rot and is caused by inconsistent soil moisture. Be sure to mulch your plants with several inches of mulch to maintain consistent soil moisture and your problem should be less frequent."
