Wet soggy clay soil drainage is a big ?
Our neighbors water run off goes right into our north facing side yard 23' by 47' we have planted 4 type of evergreen trees that get the morning sun and now the tops reach over the shade of our house. We have no problem with plants growing but what else could we plant or do to amend the soil to slow the water flow that is running into our basement?
This may be a location for a rain garden. A rain garden traps run-off temporarily and allows it to soak into the soil gradually. You may also need to create a berm to divert the water away from the basement.
