use of weedkillers
I have used Roundup to kill grass and weeds in a spot where I want to plant a tree and flowers.Someone said I've ruined the soil. Have I ruined my soil?

No, you haven't ruined the soil. There are soil sterilizers on the market, and they whole idea of these products is frightening. But Roundup (active ingredient Glyphosate) only harms plant tissues that it comes in contact with; when it comes in contact with your soil, it becomes inert and harmless.
