Gardening under trees
I have a large arbor vitae, low branches removed, that I would like to plant flowers under. It gets south and west sun, but shade from the tree. Please advise. Thank you. Sharon
Hi, Sadly, it's virtually impossible to get anythign to grow directly a large conifer. We generally tell people to mulch under their conifers because growing plants underneath is very tough. You could try a hosta or two as an experiment, but no guarantees of success.
