What can I plant in wet areas?
A large area of my yard stays extremely wet-no standing water, but wet. I'd like some color there. Please give me some ideas for planting in this type of soil.

Several hardy and colorful perennials tolerate wet feet. You don't say whether your spot is sunny or shady, so I'll give you a few suggestions for both conditions. Shade: astilbe, cardinal flower (Lobelia), forget-me-not (Myosotis), lady's mantle (Alchemilla), ligularia, marsh marigold (Caltha), rodgersia, sedge (Carex), spiderwort (Tradescantia), Virginia bluebell (Mertensia) Sun: daylily (Hemerocallis), Japanese iris (Iris ensata), Japanese primrose (Primula japonica), Joe-Pye weed (Eupatorium purpureum), Siberian iris (Iris siberica), yellow flag (Iris pseudoacorus).
