Can I plant bulbs in clay soil?
I live in Rockwall Tx. Im really wanting to plant bulbs in my flower bed for all the different seasons but we have nothing but solid clay soil. What can i do to make sure they have proper drainage?

Hi,

Thanks for writing. I'd amend your planting holes with plenty of organic matter, such as compost, to help them drain better. If the soil is particularly heavy and stays wet, I'd also recommend planting the bulbs a little more shallowly than you normally would.
