Are mushrooms bad for the garden?
With all the rain my friend have noticed many toadstools growing I haven't worried about them and left to grow and die of their own accord. fascinated by the colours and shapes. My friends has been pulling them out believing they are bad for the garden. Who is right?

Thanks for writing. Most of the fungi that produce mushrooms in the landscape aren't harmful to the yard --- so in that vein, you are correct.

Pulling them out only removes them from sight; it doesn't actually affect the fungus as the mushrooms are its reproductive organs. The main body of the fungus is a network of thread-like tissues beneath the soil surface.
