Do hybrid daylilies multiply by seeds, runners, or both?
Do hybrid daylilies multiply by seeds, runners, or both? I saved some seeds. Would planting them be a waste of time?

Thousands of hybrid daylilies are available; unfortunately, none can be successfully propagated true to type from seed. Seed collected from hybrid plants rarely yields true. Usually, the seeds collected from hybrid plants produce weaker or inferior plants (or plants that have traits of both parents, if two different plants were crossed to produce the seed). Because daylilies are so easy to propagate by division of their fibrous roots, I'd recommend using that method.
