Make sure you are using real butter, not a substitute or margarine spread. These contain more water and will cause a crumbly crust. Make sure you are using granulated sugar, not a sugar substitute, as these do not dissolve and melt the same as sugar and will cause a crumbly crust. Make sure your crumbs are finely crushed (almost ground) by using a resealable plastic bag and a rolling pin or a food processor.
