Can I use water from a dehumidifier to water my plants?
Is it safe to use the water from our dehumidifier to water flowers in the garden? I'd like to conserve water if possible, but don't want to harm the plants.
The water you collect from your dehumidifier is purer than the water from your tap. I wouldn't suggest drinking it, because bacteria could be growing in it, but it should be perfectly fine to use on your plants. The reason it is so pure is that the dehumidifier condenses water vapor out of the air. This water contains no dissolved minerals, which may be present in tap water.
