How do I root roses?

Where do I cut a rose bush and how can I try to root this? I live in Latta, SC.

An easy way to root a rose is to bend a green cane down to the ground, and pin it with wire so it stays in contact with the ground. Where it touches the ground, cover it with a couple inches of soil or compost. After a couple of months, it should be at which time you can sever it from the old plant. Then you can dig up the newly rooted plants and replant it elsewhere. Fall is the best time to transplant.
