Can I transplant perennials from one zone to another if they are hardy in both zones?
Can I transplant perennials from Zone 5 to Zone 10 if they are listed as tolerant for both zones or since they are already accustomed to Zone 5 temps and season changes, will they not proliferate in a Zone 10 climate after transplanted? I have several plants that I want to dig up and move from my home in Michigan to my new house in the Florida Keys.
As long as the plant is tolerant of climatic conditions in both Zones, it can be moved from one to the other. It's usually best to move the plant when it is dormant.
