I live in HILLSBORO N.M. There is a desert willow tree near us in the wild. Im wondering if i take a branch or a sapling from it can i root it to put one in my yard? What about the pods will they grow a tree? How do i go about doing any of these choices? THANKS jp

Desert willow can be started from seeds, but the offspring will be somewhat variable in size and flower color from the parent.

You can also take softwood cuttings to start plants. Take stem tips 6-10 inches long after they have fully expanded but before they become completely woody and hardened. Dip the base of the cutting in rooting hormone to speed rooting.
