Rhubarb flowers

This is the 1st year my rhubarb has flowered. My rhubarb is about eight yrs old. Is the flower a good thing or not and what do I do? Do I cut it, leave it, divide the plant?

If your rhubarb develops a flower stalk/seed head, simply cut it out before it matures so that the plant doesn't waste any energy on seed production. There's no need to divide the plant if it is growing vigorously.
