How do you prune boxwoods?
Boxwoods are relatively slow, compact growers, so you may not need to prune them at all if you like a mounded, natural shape. But they also respond well to shearing into whatever shape that you want. Simply trim off the growing tips of branches to a uniform length. They can be sheared a couple of times during the growing season to maintain a compact form.
In cold winter areas, you may also need to trim out sections of the plants that turn brown from winter injury.
