My back yard is all dirt, with brick wall on all 3 sides. My husband want privacy. We have been looking for plants that would reach 8-10 feet tall to plant along the back wall. We would like something low maintenance and possibly drought tolerant. We live in LA zone 9. Do you happen to have any ideas for us please. Thank you!
A good starting point would be to select California native shrubs such as ceanothus or fremontodendron that would grow to this height. You could also train most any vine to that height by creating a support for it that tops out at 10 feet tall. You could also use the advanced search option in our plant encyclopedia to get suggestions of plants that are hardy in your Zone, drought tolerant, and that reach a certain height.
