Holly trees

when is the best time to plant an Ilex holly tree and do I need to plant 2 of them?

Holly trees are best planted either in early fall or late winter/early spring, however, container-grown plants provide greater leeway in planting time.

The sexes of holly are on separate plants, so typically you need one male and one female in order to get berries on the female. Pollination is mostly by bees, so if there is another maie plant nearby, you may not need to plant one.
