why is it that the seedling i watered with more water is withering?

i planted two seeds in separate pots. one of them is watered with enough water and the other with lots of water. the one with lots of water germinated faster but is now showing signs of withering. is this expected? why?

Is sounds as though your wetter seedlings are suffering from damping off, a fungus that can attack seedlings. The problem is more likely to happen if conditions are wet. It's also important to keep things as sterile as possible, starting with fresh potting soil and containers that are new or sterilized with a 10% bleach solution before sowing the seeds.
