ZONE 8... TRYING TO GROW 4 O'CLOCK AND MORNING GLORY FROM SEEDS... NO LUCK ... HELP!

Hi, Well both of those species have very tough coatings on the seeds. To improve germination on both of these plants I always soak them in lukewarm water for about 6 to 8 hours before planting. This helps germination quite a bit. Also, they both need very warm soil temperatures and will not germinate if your soil is wet and cool. Remember, they are tropical in origin so require warm temperatures to thrive. After sowing your seeds in the garden, keep the bed slightly moist at all times (but not wet) until you see the plants germinate.
