I am looking for a garden plan for along a landscape wall that borders our patio. Wall is beautiful stone so do not want to hide too much of it. Wall is 30 inches high and 12 feet long. Bed in front of it is about 3-1/2 feet wide. We live in zone 5. Area is partial to full sun. Want perrenials rather than annuals. Any suggestions?
If the wall is only 30 inches tall, and you don't want to hide much of it, you'll need to choose low-growing perennials. You can do an advanced search in our plant encyclopedia for perennials that remain less than a foot tall (or also select those that grow 1 to 3 feet tall to broaden the possibilities), that are hardy in your Zone, and that match the sun exposure of the site. You could also select by flower color if you wish.
