How do we get rid of rotting mulberries in our yard and our mulch?
The house next door, has a very old, very fruitful mulberry tree. It drops TONS of berries onto our patio, yard and into our mulch filled swingset area. At this time removing the tree is not an option, and we have trimmed as much as we can, so we wondered how to best deal with the fruit that has dropped into the mulch and is now rotting. Obviously the bugs LOVE it! Is there anything we can spray to help the fruit decay more rapidly?
I'm sorry to report that there isn't any product that will speed the decay of the dropped fruits. Warmth and humidity (such as that predicted this week) is what is needed to speed the decay process.
