Opium poppies

Where can I get opium poppies and how long do they take to get that bulb on the end?

Opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) is also known as breadseed poppy, because the poppy seeds used in baking come from the same plant. They are available from many garden seed catalogs. They are usually planted in fall or late winter and will flower and develop the "bulb" (actually as seed pod) the following summer.
