Can nandinas be started from cuttings?

Can I start a new nandina bush from a cutting?

Nandina can be propagated from cuttings taken from semi-hardwood cuttings during warm weather. Wait until the new growth has hardened off and become almost woody before taking cuttings. Use a rooting hormone for better results.

It's also pretty easy to divide the plant by digging up some of the new shoots that sprout from the spreading root system.
