Should I paint the front door and garage door the same color?

My husband and I are currently trying to sell our home, and the front door needs repainting. I was wondering if I should paint the garage the same color as my front door or would this put off buyers? My home is a pale yellow vinyl, the garage door is white, and the front door is red.

Most homes are painted three different color groups, with the siding one color, the trim a second color, and doors and shutters a third color. There are exceptions, of course, especially for historic homes such as Victorians, which have their own color conventions. Bright colors are often used for trim, doors, and shutters, so repainting your front door red sounds like a good idea. Painting the garage door red, however, will draw attention to it at the expense of other, probably more interesting, aspects of your home. It is generally a better idea to paint your garage door the same color as your siding or leave it white. You might like to try out color schemes electronically with BHG Color a Home.

The present color scheme sounds nice. Keep it as it is and just add a fresh coat of paint. you could also add a clear gloss coat, perhaps PU coating. Front door in red is visually more inviting and distinguishes the main door from the garage door by acting as a visual focus.

I think that will not be a problem if you paint them same or even different as long as the painting process overall goes well. I will say that it is really a matter of personal preference in choosing color to paint doors and walls. The bottomline is that it should not look odd at all. Simple! http://www.naturalhomerugs.com

One assumption made may be that the Garage door is on the same face of the house as the Front Door. In that case, definitely not (unless big loudly painted Garage doors is trending in your area!) But it could be a definite possibility if the Garage is on a face perpendicular to the front. Also, don't forget to view your proposed color changes in the brightest sun, when colors really stand out; and then how they will look at just before sunset. These changes in light will affect color and contrast ratios. Red could go from fire alarm to mud.

I completely agree with Greg! You might consider having your front door stand-out somewhat, so as to highlight the area of your home where you welcome guests.

Companion planting works wonderfully for this problem. For tomato plants plant marigold flowers between each tomato plant.

How do I get rid of potatoe bugs on my potatoes? I would prefer to do it organically but, an easier way than picking all the bugs off by hand would be nice. The plants are beautiful and starting to blossom except from the damage from the bugs otherwise healthy. I have been picking the bugs off by hand. Will anything organic get rid of these pests? Thank you.
