Purslane is very shallow-rooted and thus easy to pull. You can keep it from growing in garden beds by keep a 2 to 3-inch layer of organic mulch on the beds throughout the season. Did y ou know that purslane is prized by many in salads and as a steamed green--full of vitamins!
