herbicides and poison ivy

how much do you have to saturate poison ivy with round up to kill it? Im concerned about any dripping and if it will effect my perennials.

Thanks for writing. It's best to completely wet the poison ivy leaves with Roundup or another herbicide so it's well-absorbed by the plant.

Many gardeners create a "shield" of cardboard, plastic, or another material to protect desirable plants that are growing nearby the weeds. Just set your shield up between the poison ivy and your perennials and they should be safe.
