What do I need to do to take care of my mandevilla? I love this plant's pink flowers.

Several species of mandevilla (Mandevilla, sometimes listed as Dipladenia) have become popular container plants in the North and landscape plants in the South. 'Alice du Pont' is a well-known variety. Mandevilla blooms over a long season. It is native to tropical America, so it needs warm, humid conditions for best growth. Plants are not hardy but may be overwintered in a greenhouse or bright sunroom where temperatures remain above 50 F. Outdoors, mandevilla requires full sun to part shade. Keep the soil moderately moist, and fertilize regularly through the summer. In late summer, cease fertilizing and reduce watering. Keep the humidity high during the winter rest period. If the plant is root-bound, repot it in spring. Prune it back in late winter. Take the plant back outside when all danger of frost is past.
