Using a Fridge for Garden Bed
I have an old fridge and am wondering if I can use it to plant some vegetables in if I drill a few holes in the bottom for drainage and would it need to be lined with black plastic first or can I just put garden soil straight into it.
As long as you remove the door, motor, and cooling coils so that there's no danger of contamination from the coolant, I don't see why you couldn't use the the old refrigerator as a raised bed. As you note, drill plenty of holes for drainage first. Direct contact of the soil with the enamel paint may speed development of rust, but otherwise you shouldn't need to line the interior with plastic.
