tomatoes turn black on bottom

You have blossom-end rot. That causes tomatoes to turn black on the end of the fruits. Blossom-end rot is caused by hot, dry conditions or fluctuating moisture levels. Keep plants well watered during hot weather and make sure they're watered consistently. Never let them dry out.
