How can I grow bigger green peppers?
My green peppers do not get very big. Any ideas why?
A pepper (Capsicum) plant covered in blooms may seem like a blessing, but it could be a curse. The problem could be that there are too many peppers on the plant. Plants have only so much energy-too many fruits can demand more energy from the plant than it can provide. Thinning the extra fruits soon after they set can help. Small fruit also may result from poor nutrition. Compost or other forms of organic matter worked into the soil around the plants, combined with a mulch of organic material such as leaf mold, will help hold nutrients and moisture in the soil and boost plant growth.
