Harvesting Spinach

Can I cut spinach leaves and then will new growth occur? Or do I pull the spinach including the root & re-plant for an additional crop?

Hi,

Thanks for writing. If you cut your plants back but leave the base and a couple of bottom leaves, the plants may regenerate and send up another set of leaves in cool weather, especially if you fertilize them. Note, though, that they may not do this as well once the weather starts getting hot in summer.

Just cut the leaves and let the root keep producing. I havent ever had spinach but I am growing leaf lettuce and I believe it is similar in growth... Just pick good leaves and let the rest keep going!
