hanging vegetable baskets

I am attempting to do a hanging lettuce basket in a wire basket with moss. How many plants can I put in each basket and what are some other veggies that would do good in a hanging basket?

Hi, Well it really depends on how large your basket is, but if you are doing looseleaf lettuce, you can simply sprinkle the seeds over the surface of the soil and let them all sprout. Just having an inch or two between plants will work since these plants are short-lived anyway because you'll be harvesting them before they wear out. Strawberries also do well in hanging baskets and some of the small tumbling type of tomatoes.
