"This year we planted most of our tomatoes in a different garden spot, still full sun. They don't seem to doing as well as those in our raised beds. They are at garden's edge, planted in garden fabric covered with mulch. We are thinking they need some type of fertilizer, but prefer to be as organic as possible. Any suggestions?"
For tomatoes I recommend a good compost. You can generally buy compost at most garden centers. Perhaps the problem this year is that in most parts of the country, tomatoes have been struggling due to cooler and wetter temperatures."
