cut broccoli floret too deep

I am growing broccoli bambino and believe I cut off the first floret too deep. First, I waited a bit too long. It said wait until the floret was 5-10 cent piece in width but it was closer to a quarter by the time I got to it. Then it said to cut off with two of the leaves below but there were several leaves below it when I cut it. Will my plant produce anymore broccoli or did I ruin it?
