Cucumber Yellow Drop off one inch long
I live in Texas where the soil is clay-based. Before we planted our cucumbers we exported the clay soil and put down Miracle-Gro Moisture control soil. We have beautiful vines and millions of flowers but, when the cucumbers get about an inch long, they get yellow and drop off. We have had a lot of rain this year and I have fertilized the plants due to the poor soil since the roots my be extending into the clay part of the soil. What does my cucumber patch need?
Plenty of supplemental water during the growth phase is crucial for cucumbers. They also need a fertilizer specifically for vegetables, which may not be what you're getting from the soil you are using.
