Best vegetables for a partial shade, northern exposure

I have a bed along the northern side of my house, which is at times in partial shade. In the past, I have raised tomatoes there. I now have another bed away from the house that gets lovely southern sun (I live in PA) and I will use that for tomatoes and peppers. What vegetables would you suggest for this bed with the northern exposure? It is about 3 feet by 9 feet.

Broccoli, lettuce, and spinach -- anything that bolts in the hot summer sun -- would be a good choice for the bed you describe. It might take it a little longer to warm up in the spring, so you might grow an early crop of lettuce in your "warm" bed before growing your tomatoes there!
