When to buy

My local nursery has a dwarf korean lilac tree for sale. Is it okay to buy and plant now or should I wait to purchase and plant in the spring. I live in Michigan, zone 5, and it will be in a mostly sun, some shade area. I'm really looking for something small and off the ground so I can plant hostas under it.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. You can definitely purchase a lilac now. Keep it well watered after planting to help it get adapted to its new spot. But allowing it to get established this fall will help it thrive.
