how do i get rid of scales on my shrubs before they are destroyed

Hi,

Thanks for writing. You can try spraying your shrubs with a horticultural oil --- this is one of the best solutions for dealing with scale. Be sure to follow the directions on the packaging carefully --- otherwise you could harm your shrubs.

Looking for small rounded shrubbery to keep below windows 4 foot off the ground. Can you suggest some evergreens that can be trimmed to fit under these windows? we live in the highland area of Virginia.
