rooting crepe myrtle
Crapemyrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) roots easily from cuttings taken anytime between late May and August. Take 6-to-8-inch-long cuttings and dip them in a rooting hormone before poking them into growing media in 4-inch pots. They'll root within a month, so cuttings taken early in the season can be planted in the ground in the fall. Cuttings taken later in the season should stay in their pots in a sheltered spot until the following spring.
