red spots on red tip shrubs/trees
Several different fungi cause leaf spots on red tip (photinia). The problem is usually worst during wet, humid weather. It's usually not necessary to spray the shrubs because once the leaf spotting and defoliation is noticed, the weather conditions have usually changed and no new infections are occurring.
If the problem continues, you can spray with a protectant fungicide in early spring, just as leaves are unfolding, and continuing every two weeks until weather conditions improve.
